We mind about the
local community and environment we live with. We offer
jobs for locals. On the rafts you can notice that most of
staff is Mon minority in which their village is up on
hills at the back of the rafts.
 |
We dedicated in
building a Mon pagoda and temple as to support their
belief and religion as well as established a fund for
medical support as well as school for Mon children. We
promote traditional Mon dance in order to help them preserving their beautiful tradition. During your stay, you
may notice Mon women carrying a big bucket of clothes on
their heads, this is an ordinary practice for them but
impressing for all guests.
We preserve the
fertile environment and the purity of nature. Distinct from
others, we have sewage treatment tank connected to every
guest room. We in addition concern about the use of energy
with conscious. At night, we rely on lights from hundreds
of kerosene lamps, not fluorescent interfering animals’
nightlife. All rafts are made from dead trees. We do
not cut down trees from vegetation. |
We give an excellent
treat to our elephants. Our elephants mainly account for
shores that human is incapable of such as moving the rafts
due to high/low tide. In general, trainers use sharp
bullhook to discipline elephants. Nevertheless we do not it
here. We realise that although an elephant skin is thick, it
could be sensitive enough to feel the pain of an insect
bite. We also
helped several buffalos from slaughterhouse and raise them well here.
