It is our lasting philosophy that we care about sustainable environment. We conserve the environment by setting a septic tank to avoid dumping the waste directly into the river for every raft block. This type of Sewage treatment effectively helps to decompose or minimalize the waste. All woods used to form rafts, moreover, are woods from dead trees. We do not cut down living trees around River Kwai Jungle Rafts.
Moreover, at River Kwai Jungle Rafts we believe in conserving the local culture, but at the same time we want to improve their standard of living and give them education. River Kwai Jungle Rafts therefore support Mon community by building Mon cultural temple, accommodations, kid school & play ground, drinking water hygienization, proper waste management and etc.
We offer jobs for locals which are Mon people who live just up on hills at the back of the rafts to better their lives. We also dedicated to build a Mon pagoda and temple for them as a centre of peaceful heart.
We raise elephants to do some shores that human is incapable of and we treat those elephants well. At River Kwai Jungle Rafts, trainers are not allowed to use bullhook to discipline elephants. Although an elephant skin is thick, it is sensitive enough for them to feel the pain of an insect bite. We also save several buffalos from slaughterhouse and raise them well here.
About Mon People

One of the earliest people to reside in Southeast Asia, the Mon were responsible for the spread of Theravada Buddhism in Myanmar and Thailand.
