River Kwai Jungle Rafts

DAY 1

2PM

Check in

Ride a local river long-tailed boat along the historic River Kwai Noi in Kanchanaburi to unveil a unique floating raft hotel surrounded by lush green mountains and jungle. The Jungle Rafts room’s walls are weaved from bamboo decorated with wooden furniture, en-suite private bathroom, balcony and a hammock for napping in. Experience the life without electricity; disconnect from daily stresses and just simply enjoy the fresh air and nature that surrounded.

Put on a life jacket for experience something more local, bamboo rafting is a perfect choice.  Just sit back and enjoy the wonderful nature or enjoy river jump in the river and floating down t.  The beautiful scenery surrounded will look even more remarkable when view it from the water.

Evening

After a Thai set dinner, attend a cultural Mon dance show at Mon Theater.  The dances are accompanied by background music using drums, crocodile xylophones, gongs, harps, flutes and flat guitars.  It is a rare-to-see performance, authentic and original passing through generations that you would witness only in this area of Thailand.

DAY 2

Morning

Start your morning with a hearty meal. 

After breakfast, walk uphill to Mon village.  The Mon still live a traditional, simple life. The village has been adapted a bit to tourism, with the people selling traditional skirts and foods to visitors. When walking through the village, you can visit the Golden Rock, buddha image cave, the village school and see the traditional houses. Keep walking on the 2-kilometer-trail, it will lead you pass through the tropical jungle along the River Kwai bank; make a short stop at River Kwai View Point until you reach Home Phutoey River Kwai – one of our sister hotels – where we have thermal hotsprings and adventurous activities on the trees.

Swing by on “Tree Top Adventure” with 40 exciting stations – zip lines and games over treetops and across the lake. Ride a skybike in the canopy or swing from tree to tree like a monkey in the jungle. Take a break on giant platform and lay down on huge hammock to take in the cool breeze and shade. The highlight is a giant zip line stretching over the whole length of the lake. After the last stretch, you will be offered refreshments to cool down after this amazing adventure. Enjoy in the lake kayaking or pedal boat and refresh your day by soaking in the natural thermal hotspring pool or swimming in a lakeside pool.

Noon

Lunch at Lemon grass restaurant, great view overlooking the river Kwai Noi.  Try variety delish dish on a la carte menu.

Afternoon

The Peace Park is located at Home Phutoey River Kwai Resort included the Weary Dunlop Museum. A huge wooden statue of Dunlop guards the entrance to a hall housing POW memorabilia and information about Dunlop’s life. The park also includes a replica of a POW hospital, various artifacts from prisoner camps and a gallery containing prints of the evocative WW II drawings of British POW Jack Chalker

On returning, the alternate trip are a back-track back into Jungle Rafts or ride a local boat downstream to get to Jungle Rafts.

Evening

Dinner set , so on a clear-moon; the star-studded skies offer a spellbinding show all year round.

DAY 3

Morning

After breakfast

Treat yourself to the Thai Massage by the Mon masseuse providing a pleasant moment attentively for relaxation.

Noon

Lunch at Jungle Rafts restaurant before check out by local long-tailed boat. 

Before heading back home, turn left on 323 road to visit to Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre.  Imagine how horrific this place must have been for those who were forced to chisel through solid rock for 18 hours a day. Understanding why Allied POWs named this section of the Thai-Burma railway, Hellfire Pass.

During green season, the Saiyok Noi Waterfall is a good selection to make a short stop before ending vacation.
